My name is Becky, and I am delighted and excited to be the Principal of Little Voices East Lancashire and Craven. I returned to live in this area in Summer 2023 after moving to the south to qualify as a primary school teacher, where I remained for a number of years with my husband and two children. However, I am a northerner born and bred, having lived in Skipton throughout my childhood. Circumstances have happily meant that I am able to return ‘home’ and now live with my husband on the East Lancs/Yorkshire border.
Having been a primary teacher for many years I have always continued to nurture and grow my passion for the performing arts. I have sung in many choirs and played in the viola in several orchestras, alongside continuing to teach. I believe passionately in and continue to see first hand the countless benefits that involvement in learning and sharing the performing arts can bring to children in boosting well-being, success in all aspects of their learning and confidence boosting to name but a few. The pillars upon which Little Voices is built aligns perfectly with my own educational ethos.
I am very fortunate to be supported by inspirational and passionate Tutors, who bring experience and expertise in Drama and Singing. I am joined in Colne by Amy Battle and in Accrington by Rachel Barber.
Here are a few words from Amy – My name is Amy and I am a professional actress and drama/performance tutor, specialising in LAMDA teaching and drama with mindfulness workshops. I have over 20 years experience love my job! My hobbies are visiting the theatre and spending time with my family and friends
