Principal Ali Hartland Tutor Megan Hickie

Ali Hartland – Principal

Ali is passionate about bringing Performance Arts to the younger generation, encouraging artistic expression in children to enrich their creative lives.

Her formal dance training, at university and London Contemporary Dance School, led to an honours degree in Performance Arts.

Ali has worked on many world stages from the West End to the Royal Albert Hall, to Las Vegas to the smallest fringe theatres in the UK. She has performed (and won best female individual) at Notting Hill Carnival, also running costume and theatre workshops for children; she has danced on TV, in adverts and in Alan Parker’s film ‘Evita’.

Ali’s own son was her main reason to become Principal of Little Voices South Manchester – she has seen him develop creatively through the acting and singing lessons, building confidence and skills for life, to become a self-assured and articulate young person.

I am delighted to welcome Megan Hickie as our Drama and Singing Tutor from January 2024

Megan is an Actor/Musical Theatre Performer who trained at LIPA Sixth Form College and The Arden School of Theatre, graduating in 2022 with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Musical Theatre. Credits whilst training include; Sondheim’s Putting It Together, Bad Girls the Musical and Little. Megan has taught Dance, Musical Theatre and Drama since she was 16 with experience teaching ages from 4-18.

Since graduating Megan has been involved in many projects with The Mad Grads, Oldham Theatre Workshop, and in January 2023 filmed the Pilot Episode of her original mockumentary sitcom ‘For The Love of Cake.’

‘I am so excited to join the Little Voices family as their Drama and Singing teacher. As someone who understands how great it is to find a love for the arts at such a young age, I can’t wait to share that love with some very talented young people and help them find their passions.’
