Ali Hartland – Principal
Ali is passionate about bringing Performance Arts to the younger generation, encouraging artistic expression in children to enrich their creative lives.
Her formal dance training, at university and London Contemporary Dance School, led to an honours degree in Performance Arts.
Ali has worked on many world stages from the West End to the Royal Albert Hall, to Las Vegas to the smallest fringe theatres in the UK. She has performed (and won best female individual) at Notting Hill Carnival, also running costume and theatre workshops for children; she has danced on TV, in adverts and in Alan Parker’s film ‘Evita’.
Ali’s own son was her main reason to become Principal of Little Voices South Manchester – she has seen him develop creatively through the acting and singing lessons, building confidence and skills for life, to become a self-assured and articulate young person.
Kate Butt – Singing Tutor
Kate has been teaching at Little Voices South Manchester since it launched in 2017. She graduated from The Royal Northern College of Music In 2015 gaining a BA Hons in Popular Music Performance. Kate loves musicals and attained a Grade 8 Distinction in Musical Theatre with the London College of Music. Kate has performed at a variety of venues including The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Courts of Justice, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Chester Cathedral. She has worked in schools delivering singing workshops and sings at weddings and other events.
Courtney Henderson – Drama Tutor
Courtney Henderson trained at the SA Performing Arts Centre in Newcastle Upon Tyne and graduated with a Diploma in Performing Arts plus an ATCL Trinity Teaching Diploma in Performing Arts (Speech and Drama). She also attended the Act Up North Acting School in Manchester to develop her acting skills. To date Courtney has appeared in a range of TV and stage productions including Beautiful, Six and Chicago as well as appearing in music videos and dance productions such as Queen and Moonwalker live at the O2 Academy in Newcastle. Courtney teaches Drama workshops in schools across Greater Manchester.
