Welcome to Little Voices South West London

We are so excited that Little Voices is the performing arts company of your choice! To give you an idea here at Little Voices South West London we split our academic year into two semesters..

PERFORMANCE SEMESTER (September – March)

We will work with everyone towards a collaborative group musical theatre performance which involves everyone having a character to play, with their own lines to say as well as singing the songs from the chosen musical or Disney piece with choreography, costumes and props. The performance will take place during the lesson before we break up for February half term. We also have a videographer who comes along to professionally film the performance which we then send out to everyone afterwards to watch back with friends and family.

LAMDA EXAM AWARD SEMESTER (March – July)

Here at Little Voices we pride ourselves on our outstanding reputation and 100% pass rate with LAMDA. The exams are nothing to worry about and are a fantastic achievement to work towards to build confidence as well as valuable skills for life!

‘Mini Voices’ 4 – 7 years: Exams

With our Mini Voices, we work with each child towards an optional end of year LAMDA introductory communication examination. This involves each child reciting a poem from memory as well as talking about a show and tell and describing their favourite game or activity. We will hold a presentation lesson after the exam, during our lessons (before we break up for the summer) allowing everyone the chance to share their pieces with friends and family.

‘Little Voices’ 8 – 11 years:  Exams

We will work with our Little Voices towards an optional end of year LAMDA acting or speaking verse and prose exam. These can be taken as a group, in pairs or as a solo. Exam choices and grades are based on our Little Voices tutor’s professional judgement and will be discussed with each individual child and parent. If your child has taken a previous LAMDA exam please let us know when enrolling.

We will hold a presentation lesson after the exam, during our lessons (before we break up for the summer) allowing everyone the chance to share their pieces with friends and family.

Other notes to remember..

• Everyone will be given a Little Voices folder when joining us. We ask that your child brings this along to the lesson every week to keep handouts and scripts in as well as their ‘Pupil Of The Lesson’ achievement sticker chart. At every lesson, we will award one child with a ‘Pupil Of The Lesson’ sticker this can be to acknowledge hard work or something else that our tutor feels they’d like to celebrate. If a child gets 6 stickers, please let us know as they will be awarded a special prize to congratulate them on all of their hard work!
• Our uniform is mandatory and we kindly ask that your child tries to wear their Little Voices t shirt to our lessons every week. We ask that you purchase one of these when enrolling in particular for our LAMDA exam days and presentation lessons.
• We also have a notebook for children who attend our ‘Little Voices’ groups. This is to allow our tutor to give feedback every week on how your child is progressing (in particular when it comes to our LAMDA exam semester).
