About our Lessons

 MINI VOICES (4 -7  years)

Our ‘Mini Voices’ lessons are for 4 to 7 year olds delivered in small class sizes introducing children to performing arts through fun and inspiring Drama and Singing lessons. We aim to build children’s confidence, nurturing each child’s talent and developing their communication skills.

Pupils work towards a mid year theatrical performance as well as an optional end of year LAMDA communication examination. This will involve each child reciting a poem and demonstrating their ability to discuss their favourite topics.

LITTLE VOICES (7 – 11 years)

Our ‘Little Voices’ lessons are designed for children aged 7 to 12 years, classes are small in size and are grouped according to age and ability. Little Voices singing and drama lessons cover a varied theatrical repertoire working towards a mid year musical theatre performance as well as an optional end of year LAMDA musical theatre, acting or speaking verse and prose exam.

During these lessons we cover; characterisation, expression, script work and working together as part of a ‘cast’ as well as nurturing each child’s young singing voice with vocal health as a priority.

VOICES (12-18 years)

Our ‘Voices’ lessons are directed at secondary school aged children, aged 12+. The lessons include more advanced skill development, in depth knowledge of how the voice works, breathing techniques, and the ability to reflect on a characters intentions and feelings in a variety of settings.

We work together towards LAMDA examinations in Musical Theatre and Acting, both as groups and as individuals. At the higher grade levels, pupils are eligible to receive UCAS points from their LAMDA achievements.

Lessons take place on Mondays at GHS, Mondays and Tuesdays at St Andrews Pangbourne,  Tuesdays at Christ’s College and Wednesdays at Brookwood Primary School and St Swithun’s.

Your child will be allocated the class most appropriate for them for a free trial lesson after you have be contacted by telephone about your application and your booking has been confirmed by email.

Dear Sam, Just a quick one to say how proud we were of Mimi and her group on Sunday. She was amazing. I can’t believe she seems so natural and enjoys acting and singing so much, it’s not come from me for sure! Every time I watch her I see how enthusiastic and confident she seems and its great. She is already talking about what she wants to do for her exam! Many thanks to you and your LV crew.

My daughter joined Little Voices in September and she hasn’t looked back since. Yesterday we watched her become Glinda in Wicked! With her Brookwood LV friends they put on an outstanding performance. Thank you to Samantha and Joely for giving them the confidence to shine. Looking forward to the Tangled Theme week. x

My daughter has been attending weekly Guildford Little Voices classes now for a few years. She has always felt confident and valued within her classes and thrives on achieving good results in the LAMDA examinations. It’s thanks to Samantha, Kelsey and Hannah that my daughter has grown as a performer, especially as a singer and I am very proud of her as a result! Only this weekend she performed so well in a group of talented girls…I highly recommend the classes.

Wow. I really have no words for how blown away I was this morning! Tilly hasn’t practised with me (well, she goes over her words but doesn’t act them!) so I really had no idea what to expect and it was amazing!! Thank you so much for your total enthusiasm, talented teaching and confidence building skills that have gone into creating such a brilliant performance.

Little Voices has not only increased my daughters confidence but taught her how to focus and project her voice which is such a life skill. She comes out of her classes feeling inspired and has found a passion in all things musical. We constantly have songs from Matilda and The Greatest Showman playing and can’t wait to explore more in the years to come. I highly recommend Samantha and her super team.

Little voices has been perfect for my daughters. We love the small class sizes and ability of the teachers to focus on and nurture each child individually as well as ensuring they achieve goals and perform at scheduled exams. My eldest got a distinction at her first ever exam despite being nervous, I believe this was due to the correct preparation and encouragement for her age and development. We have also done a holiday camp day which was fabulous! Thanks to Sam and the team x

My daughter started little voices as a child who would hide behind people and shy away from performing in front of anyone. It has been amazing to see her transform into such a confident performer! she loves going to Little Voices in Guildford and we believe she has really found her passion and as a parent that is all i can ask. Thank you so much to all Amy Little Voices teachers.

Little Voices is amazing! I can’t believe how much my daughter’s (age 5) confidence has grown in the past few weeks since she started her drama and singing lessons and then she took part in their theatre workshop this half term and we went and watched their Annie performance at the end of the week and there are just no words to describe how I felt watching her onstage giving her it her all. I was fighting back the tears along with my mum! I was so proud and it’s all thanks to her lovely coaches at Little Voices and all the new friends she’s made along the way. I highly recommend Little Voices to everyone. Amazing xx

Thank you so much for giving Alicia such an amazing week! We totally LOVED the whole experience! And so good for their confidence! Think it’s fair to say they were all superb learning their lines and their acting skills. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the performance! Please keep me posted for the next one! Alicia will definitely be there! X
