What is a theatre week?

Theatre week is great for building confidence in children, as well as giving children the chance to shine on the stage.

Each day starts and finishes with drama games which will incorporate team building, confidence, vocal and acting skills which, in a highly fun way will ensure that every single child is completely happy with the group.

Day 1 all the children walk into the room a little nervous, and not quite sure what to expect, however, at the end of the day they leave with a new set of friends, a script and a part that they will take ownership of and perform in the final performance on the afternoon of day 4.

Each child also has to find their own costume and props… We ask each child NOT to go out and buy something, but to use things that they already have at home that they can transform into something using their imagination.

SO we will…

  • Learn an entire script in 4 days
  • Be part of a big show
  • Meet lots of new people and make lots of new friends
  • Learn singing, acting and dancing
  • Gain confidence
  • Props and costume excitement!
  • Learn new acting and vocal skills
  • Learn team building skills

A great place for them to have fun in the holidays, improve their confidence and performing skills. My daughter loves every minute and we were so proud of her in this last Moana performance as she took centre stage and sung beautifully – something she has shied away from before – so it is really helping her learn how to perform. Thanks to all involved. Julie Stroscio, Parent

Thomas was a bit unsure about the whole thing at first and didn’t want to do it, but after the second day he couldn’t wait to go again. He said that he wanted to go again next week and was disappointed that he had to wait until February! He said next time he would be keen to have even more lines! He also really enjoyed meeting some new friends. Jennifer Morgan, Parent

My girls absolutely love attending the Little Voices Theatre Weeks. They have been going to these for the last 2-3 years, and strongly insist that we plan our holidays so they don’t miss any of these workshops! These classes are just a whole lot of fun and a perfect way for the kids to spend their holidays. They are run by some very cool and fun teachers (huge shout out to Kelsey, Hannah and the entire crew!) who make the effort to get to know the children and are able to bring out the best in each child by giving them the space to learn and perform to their own ability. Well done team, and we look forward to many more weeks of theatre with Little Voices. Neha Agarwal, Parent

Thank you so much for all your hard work this week with the ‘School of Rock’, theatre week, Beckett absolutely loved his time with you and honestly blew us away with his performance today. For his first attempt at any sort of theatre school we have been thrilled for him, and he is very keen to return! Donna Hunt, Parent
