Hi, My name is Rachel and I have been Principal of Little Voices in Preston, Leyland and Chorley for 10 years. I LOVE what I do! I love teaching children and I love all that Little Voices stands for, so buying a Little Voices franchise was not a hard decision!
I have been teaching for over 20 years and am as passionate today about helping children reach their goals and dreams as the first day I started teaching! My degree and background is actually in Sociology and Psychology (although people always think that it is in performing arts – I think it is because I am very dramatic!) but the Head of Drama at the school where I work, quite a few years ago, asked me if I would train and start teaching LAMDA as they needed some help and she knew I also loved the Theatre and had a musical background. So I did, and started teaching LAMDA alongside my A level teaching. I soon realised I loved it! It didn’t take me long to realise that I wanted to continue teaching Musical Theatre / Performance and within a few months I found myself buying Little Voices Preston and never looking back.
It is hard to believe that that was 10 years ago. So much has happened in that time. We have lots of amazing pupils, have had fantastic LAMDA examination success (100% pass rate) big showcase events on huge stages and worked with lots of local schools. But we also have lots of pupils who have their own success, those who have gone on to the best Drama Schools, had West End success, those who have been more confident in lessons at school, gained the courage to talk to more people in social situations. All of these things make me so proud!
Every child who joins us at Little Voices is incredibly important to us. Along with my highly trained team, we work hard to ensure each pupil has fun in our lessons and feel like they matter. Our small classes ensure we really get to know our pupils, their strengths and weaknesses and how we can best help them achieve their goals.
